Radio Operations

Paynesville Coast Guard operates a marine radio base providing:

*        Radio support for The Flotilla’s Rescue vessel;

*        Support for vessels plying the Gippsland Lakes;

*        Support for vessels travelling offshore (in Eastern Bass Strait);

*        Support for vessels crossing the Lakes Entrance Bar.

Our base currently operates 7 days a week during daylight hours.  Frequencies monitored include:

*        Channel 16 (VHF);

*        The new long distance repeater sited on Mount Taylor (Channel 80 VHF);
